In-vehicle System for the Nissan Driverless Concept Car Designed for Landscape Photographer
Car Design Award Chian | UI Designer | September 2016 - February 2017
The Origin of This Application
I read a piece of news about a famous Japanese-born nature photographer named Michio Hoshino who died in a bear attack at the shooting tour of Kamchatka, Russia, at the age of 43. This is the last picture he took before he died.
As I learned more, I found that the photograph was actually a forged photograph, but many landscape photographers encountered dangerous precedents in the field.

Be Comfortable With Being Outdoors for Long Time
Camping, hiking, and survival skills are usually a must for anyone interested in a wildlife photography career. At times, a wildlife photographer will spend hours, days, or even months camping outdoors, just for waiting for the perfect shot.
Seize the Opportunity
When the time does come for a perfect shot, a wildlife photographer has only one chance to capture it; he must be quick and shoot quickly, because wild animals aren’t likely to repeat an action simply if the photographer didn’t get the shot he wanted.
The Danger
When the time does come for a perfect shot, a wildlife photographer has only one chance to capture it; he must be quick and shoot quickly, because wild animals aren’t likely to repeat an action simply if the photographer didn’t get the shot he wanted.

When photographing landscapes it’s important to realize that 90% of the day the light just is not perfect for photography. A lot of the time these locations are not easy to get to in the light of day, let alone in the dark of night.

A dedicated landscape photographer should be able to hike up wet rocks and steep hillsides. The unique photographs will often come from the path less traveled, which means, photographers are going to be doing some serious hiking and may even get lost.

There are many uncontrollable situations that occur when shooting wildlife and photographers need prepare for evasive and protective action in any eventuality.
Aim of Design
-
To ensure the personal safety of photographers
-
To provide the best shooting route
-
To improve the work efficiency of photographers
-
To avoid the inconvenience caused by traffic inconvenience
How to Achieve
Travel mode
Due to the fact that most of the working places for nature photographers are located outdoors, some very special scenic spots such as canyons, waterfalls, jungles, etc, changing the way of nature photographers travel is the key to solving the problem. An advanced travel approach avoids photographers walking through extreme terrain on foot and also effectively protects the photographer's personal safety.
Big data assistant
Statistical analysis of the natural photographer's travel route can effectively avoid the inconvenience caused by the terrain on the road. At the same time it can effectively find more high-quality shooting position.

Technology
Holographic projection interaction
Holographic projection technology has now been basically achieved. There are three most common ways to achieve. Air projection and interactive technology;laser beam projection entity 3D images;360 degree holographic display.
Holographic projection interaction technology is not yet mature, but in recent years there are successful cases.A research team from the University of Tokyo now makes it possible to even touch those images with a newly developed projector system.
The so-called Touch Holography is essentially made of three parts: a display, two controls to track your hands in front of the display and a tactile display that uses ultrasound to provide tactile sensation onto your hand. The Touch Holography uses the infrared camera to track the position of your hand so that the tactile display can radiate ultrasound to the right spot, making you feel you actually touch the object.

Autonomous cars
An autonomous car (also known as a driverless car, self-driving car, robotic car) and unmanned ground vehicle is a vehicle that is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input.
In Europe, cities in Belgium, France, Italy and the UK are planning to operate transport systems for autonomous cars, and Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain have allowed public testing in traffic. In 2015, the UK launched public trials of the LUTZ Pathfinder autonomous pod in Milton Keynes. Beginning in summer 2015 the French government allowed PSA Peugeot-Citroen to make trials in real conditions in the Paris area. The experiments were planned to be extended to other cities such as Bordeaux and Strasbourg by 2016. The alliance between French companies THALES and Valeo (provider of the first self-parking car system that equips Audi and Mercedes premi) is testing its own system. New Zealand is planning to use autonomous vehicles for public transport in Tauranga and Christchurch.
